James Wright is the head instructor at Wright's Extreme Martial Arts BJJ MMA in Jacksonville, NC. He is a fifth degree BLACK BELT in Kempo Karate and is the Highest ranking BJJ Certified Instructor in Onslow County. In addition he holds the rank of Black Belt in several other traditional styles of Martial Arts, the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, and is a Certified Mauy Thai Instructor (Kru) in Black Tiger Mauy Thai.

James is a certified Brown Belt BJJ Iinstructor and affiliate of Nova Uniao (New Union) under UFC fighter Renato "Charuto" Verissimo.

Certified BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU INSTRUCTOR (red tab) in two systems of BJJ. His first Brown Belt is under the Pedro Saure system. Senior Black Belt Roland Malone promoted James to Brown Belt in the Pedro Saure system.

UFC fighter Nate "the Great" Marquardt Promoted James in Murgel BJJ.

Jerry Roeder a second degree BLACK BELT in Pancrase Promoted James to Brown Belt in Pancrase. Wright's Extreme Martial Arts is an affiliate of Starzworld Pancrase World Headquarters.

Wright's Extreme Martial Arts has guest instructors on a regular basis. Some of the greats that have taught at Wright's include: UFC fighters Randy Couture, Charuto, Nate the great Marquardt, Rich Franklin, Markus Jones, Stephan Bonnor, George Gurgel, and dozens more.
